Many Maya children grow up hearing about the great cities their ancestors built, yet many have never had the chance to see them in person.
With the help of sponsors and the Maya Hinterland Fund, we organized a community trip to Chichén Itzá so families and children could experience this place of history and memory with their own eyes.

This trip was not about tourism.
For many of the children and families, it was the first time seeing Chichén Itzá with their own eyes. A place known around the world, but still out of reach for many people whose own ancestors helped shape this land.
With the help of sponsors and the Maya Hinterland Fund, we were able to organize this community trip and give the children a day of history, wonder, laughter, and connection.
Sometimes support is not only about food, clothing, or supplies. Sometimes it is about opening a door to memory, pride, and belonging.
